Today I woke up super excited because today we head into the village of Musima where our sponsorship program is and I couldn’t wait.

First, we had church, we worship at Acacia Community Church when we are here, with our Pastor Terry. It is so great coming back and seeing all our friends, there were lots of hugs and big smiles. I wasn’t there 2 minutes before I had a little by my side, she stayed with me through worship and then headed off to Sunday school.

I was standing talking with some friends after church when someone came up behind me and grabbed me…I should have known it was my Ugandan dad Job. Job has been our driver on this side since my very first trip to Uganda. He is my absolute favorite, he takes such good care of us..but he always loves to sneak up on me and scare me whenever he can.

We quickly loaded up into the car and headed out to Musima. As soon as we turned off the main road I was smiling so big, as we wound our way through the red dirt road, bouncing around I just got happier and happier with every passing second.

We actually arrived 20 minutes earlier then what we told them, so we took them by surprise but before I knew it our van was swarmed by people yelling, clapping, singing and welcoming us back home. They opened my door and picked me up and put me on the back of a bicycle decorated with flowers and pushed me to the center of the village. Every year they find a new way to make a grand entrance…its pretty amazing.

There was signing and dancing to welcome us home. Words from the LC (local chairperson) and Patrick, and then I got to speak and remind everyone that Musima is home for me, how much I love them and how hard I will work for them.

Then it came time to walk down to the community resource center..and I couldn’t wait. I have been dreaming of having this building for so long and I can’t believe it’s really here. As I walked surrounded by my kids I saw the building peaking over the trees and I couldn’t believe it. We walked around it, in it and I was amazed and in awe. I have no words to thank everyone who helped make it possible and I am so thankful to God for making it happen! Patrick and I stood there and looked at it, and dreamed all we can do in the building. Eunice and I stood in our office and she just squealed with excitement and dreaming about how she’s going to organize every thing.

It was time to head back to Patrick’s home for lunch, as a storm was rolling in. We sat surrounded by littles and my big brother Pande. We ate and laughed and listened to the rain on the tin roof. It didn’t last long and then we were back outside to play and just enjoy each other’s company.

Before I knew it, it was time to head out because tomorrow will be an early day! The dental clinic starts tomorrow! 50 children will be seen each day in the dental clinic so we will be super busy! so I left with a happy heart, knowing I will be back early in the morning.

So for now…Mweraba!
