I would like for you to meet our two cooks for the breakfast feeding program. They are called Aciro Agnes and Akumu Hellen. Both of these amazing ladies are from the Acholi tribe. Before they started working with Project Yesu they both worked in the stone quarry breaking rocks to make gravel. Working in the quarry means working very long hours, breaking rocks for very little money. It is a tough job.

Aciro Agnes has two grown children of her own and is also raising three other children, Akumu Hellen also has two grown children and is raising four other children. Both ladies are so happy to be working for the breakfast feeding program. They both agree it is a good program for the children and they are happy to be a part of it. I was amazed at how hard the ladies worked and how organized they had everything…I even tried a cup of the porridge and it was really good!
