Makmot enjoying his Fanta

Makmot enjoying his Fanta

Today was a slow day for us because we are set to head to Jinja side. But before we left, Santina brought Makmot and Gabriel to our hotel to play futbol (soccer) and have a soda..which is a big treat for my boys. It was their first time coming out of the Acholi Quarter and their first time in a car! It was so cute to see their faces when they got to the hotel. We played for a couple of hours, and then it was time to leave.

Its about a 2 hour drive from Kampala to Jinja, and its so pretty driving through the tea plantations and Mabira forrest. We are staying with our Pastor and his family for a few days, I love spending time with Pastor Terry and Mama Debbie.

As soon as we got to Jinja, Pastor Terry drove us to town so we could meet with Zeke and Mama Viola. I met Zeke 3 years ago on my first trip to Uganda, he was at the special needs orphanage we visit. From the moment I met him, he stole my heart. Now Zeke has been adopted by Mama Viola, one of the occupational therapists who works at the orphanage. It makes me so happy that Zeke has a forever family, and I love that we still get to visit with them and spend time together.

Zekey will always put the biggest smile on my face.
