Day 17 – 13 July 2014
This morning I got up super early. Prossy, our friend Kilya’s wife, was coming over to braid my hair, Ugandan style. I was pretty excited for that. Four hours later my braids were done and we hopped bodes and headed out to spend our last Sunday in Jinja at Ekisa.
We got there and the kids were all out in the yard playing. I was barely through the gate when Mweru, in true Mweru style, climbed me like a tree.
I love watching Mama Sara with the kids, she has such an amazing, loving heart for them all. Even though she is Mweru’s special mama, she truly loves each and every one of the kids. She has endless energy, and always has a smile on her face.
My sweet Isaac, who had been sick with typhoid, was feeling better and wanted nothing more then to swing in the swing. I spent time with Josh, and loved seeing how strong he is getting when I walked with him across the yard.
Of course, Grace hugs rock, I mean he is the sweetest little man and so smart. I love watching him sign and hear him speak English, almost better then me.
After awhile it started to get late and it was time for the kids to have dinner and bath time before bed. Spending time at Ekisa will always be one of my favorite things to do, and the children there will always have such a special place in my heart.
