On Saturday, March 22, from 6-8 pm, we asked Creekers to “Change the World for One” at our Celebration of Hope with a banquet where Creekers could participate in leading others to discover real life locally and globally. We shared a great meal from Jack Stack BBQ and heard from one of our global partners Sam Stephens.

We didn’t just have childcare, in CreekKids, we had a very special opportunity to teach a large group of kids just how awesome local and global missions can be! As part of the Live Out Banquet , we offered a special Children’s program complete with Dinner and special Skype conversation with a very young missionary (14 years old).

CreekKids played through “minute to win it” style games themed from around the globe. At the Africa “stop” for the evening, children from ages 3-11 gathered around and actually got to Skype with Mallory Fundora from Project Yesu.  Mallory shared a story of a young girl who had a heart to help others all the way on the other side of the globe.  Mallory’s story captured their attention!  The kids were amazed that the young girl in the story was, in fact, the young girl that they were listening to!  They were excited to find out that Mallory wasn’t “just a video”, but that she was REALLY able to see them! Several of the kids had some great questions!  A few of our kids really seemed to take heart of the hope that THEY could in fact BE THE CHANGE! They asked Mallory specific questions on fundraising and how to deal with being told that they were “too young to do something so big”.  Mallory answered their questions with amazing poise! CreekKids and Indian Creek Community Church was so honored to have Mallory take part in an event that was so exciting and inspiring to our precious kids!!

Plans are in the works to have Mallory connect again with our group!!
