IMG_6789Excuse the long post but wanted to get my thoughts out about something. Sometimes I get asked if what I do is faith based because they don’t see scripture on our website only a quote by a “hindu”. Yes, there is a quote by Mahatma Ghandi “be the change you want to see in the world” because that is a quote I read when I was 11 years old and it challenged me to do something! But there is also scripture.…faith by itself, it it does not have works, is dead James 2:17…if you’re going to talk the talk then walk the walk. Jesus calls us to care for the least of these, to care for the widows and orphans..not just say we will but to do it.

When I am asked…this is my response. I have been called to the mission field, I know this is what God has called me to and what He wants me to do. The name of my organization is Project Yesu, Yesu is the Lugandan word for Jesus. I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the kids in Uganda. But, we don’t preach or evangelize when we are in country. Many of the children we serve are Christian, but many are Muslim. My goal is to show Jesus’ love to whoever, it doesn’t matter what their religion is. If they see me loving and serving them, then they will wonder why and that is when I can share God’s love with them. I don’t ever want someone to feel they can’t be served because we are different religion. I was always raised that Jesus loved and served everyone, he didn’t ask what their belief was first, he loved them and served them and showed them His father’s heart.

So there you have it, the why behind what I do, the calling on my life and the passion in my heart. Yes, I am a believer, yes I love Jesus and follow the calling He has put on my life.
